What is "Default content" ?
These are all files which come with the standard installation of the game, such as the default textures for the game, the default car skins etc. pp.
Default content is always found within [Game installation folder]\Gamedata\
What is "Custom content" ?
These are all files which were implemented into the game after an installation. We're talking about custom user avatars, custom car skins & models, environment modification zip files etc.
Custom content is always saved to C:\...\[Username]\My documents\Trackmania\
With a fresh game installation, lots of the subfolders for custom content don't yet exist on the harddisk! In this case, you will have to create these folders yourself.
Tricks to find files on your harddisk
If you can't find files or paths by the lists published below, you have 2 additional methods of finding custom files on your harddisk.
The TM launcher can show you where Trackmania stores its files.
Look at the explorer location to see where your files are stored. Also search the parent folders (one folder above), you might find other important folders there.
Another trick to find the folders on your harddisk:
1. Create a driving track and save it to harddisk.
2. Use your Desktop search and let it search on drive C:\ for all *.gbx files
3. Don't forget to search in HIDDEN FOLDERS as well.
This way the Desktop search will find the folder your selfmade track is stored in. Look in the parent folders to find the other subfolders for custom content.

This list doesn't show all available default files. To get a complete overview, you must sneak through all the directories yourself...

General Locations
The Cache is located in C:\...\ALL USERS\Trackmania\Cache\
Screenshots (F10) and Videos are stored in C:\..\[Username]\My documents\Trackmania\ as well.
Troubleshooting
If your Game crashes on server entry, empty the "Cache" directory.
If your Game crashes on Track Editor/Mediatracker entry, empty the "MediaTrackerGhosts" folder, which is a subfolder of the "Custom Content/Replays" folder.
